As we say at Soccer Buddies, active kids are healthy kids!! Michigan's beautiful summer days are the perfect chance to stay active outside and the Grand Rapids area has tons of parks available to do just that! Below are some options you should check out this summer for a fun day in the sun:
1. Boulder Ridge
Explore the day at Boulder Ridge as you check out a range of 120 animals over 80 acres of land. Many of the animals here CAN be touched making it an interactive experience! Boulder Ridge also provides a walkthrough Safari, so your kids can experience the wild like never before.
2. Gerald R. Ford Airport Viewing Park
Does your kid LOVE airplanes? If so, the Gerald R. Ford is a MUST visit this summer. Watch from your car or bring a blanket to watch different types of airplanes take off and land. Check out their website to see departure times. It is also a beautiful place to watch the summer sunsets.
3. Richmond Park
Richmond Park is one of Grand Rapids original parks and classified as a specialty park by the city. There are so many cool things to explore here such as mountain bike trail, natural area, swimming pool, playground and more!
4. Riverside Park
Classified as a large urban park, this park was designed to both meet community needs and also to preserve the unique landscape and open space. Picnic shelters are available to rent In advance and Riverside also features a disc golf course, paved bike and river trail, soccer fields and more!
